Pictures from Oslo, the Western Fjords, and Lofoten Islands
| This series chronicles a 12 day
trip in June 2001. The route is outlined in red. Beginning in the
capital city of Oslo, we crossed the Hardanger Plateau by rail to Bergen,
explored the interior in the vicinity of Jostadalsbreen National Park.
From there it was back to Bergen to board the Hurtigruten coastal steamer for a 3 day boat trip up the west coast to the town of Svolvaer in the Lofoten Islands, 100 miles above the Arctic Circle. We finished with a 25 hour continuous trip by boat and rail the Oslo, for the conclusion. |
