Myth: An injury in one form is lessened upon transformation
WoD: *Yes
Note: contributor Kristian Wichmann says: This is technically true, but since a Garou does not regenerate in his breed form, a shapeshift is sometimes in order to heal injuries.

Myth: You become a shapeshifter by ... taking and wearing the skin of an animal (or were)
AB: *Yes
Note:In this case, it can be debated whether the witch truly became a shapeshifer, or just used a spell to shift shapes.

Myth: A were will eventually heal from anything short of losing a limb.
WoD: *Yes
Note: contributor Kristian Wichmann says: A lost limb will eventually regenerate, unless cut of by silver or other aggravated means (silver, magic, etc), in which case it will remain as a battle scar (that's my perception of it at least).

Myth: Weres are affected by lunar phases
WoD: *Yes
Note:Weres are also affected by the lunar cycle in which they are born. It subtly affects personality and determines expected social role.

Myth: The were can pause at (and function at) various stages of transformation (i.e. animal eyes only, half form, quarter form...)
WoD: *Yes
Note:contributor Kristian Wichmann says: A werewolf has two other 'quarter-forms' apart from the mentioned three, namely Glabro ('Near-man') and Hispo ('Near-wolf'). But apart from this true partial transformations are indeed possible. Thus it is possible to assume the form of a human with a full Crinos arm and claws (to name a classic example).

Myth: The alternate form is feral (that is, violent and aggressive with diminished reasoning capacity)/The alternate form has the mind of an animal
WoD: *No
Note:contributor Kristian Wichmann says: A Garou in Crinos form is generally more prone to violent outbursts, just as a Garou in Lupus form will think more as a primitive (this does not mean agressive) wolf, than when in Homid. This does not however mean that the were loses control in the manner usually depicted in horror flicks: It is a much more subtle (though still significant) effect.
