[Bob and Peggy Schroeck]

[Bob and Peggy Schroeck] I'll sum it up quickly. I'm Bob Schroeck. I went to Manchester Township High School in Manchester, NJ from 1976 to 1980 (where I was known as "Robert" -- I was bit stuffier then). I'm Princeton University Class of '84; while I was there I created Narth for a campaign run at the old Simulation Games Union at Whig-Clio. I work for A.M. Best Company, if anyone cares. I'm a roleplayer (obviously), a reasonably good cook (French, Italian, Chinese and Japanese food being my current specialties), an anime fan (particularly where fanfics are concerned, I almost qualify as an otaku [which is Japanese for "obsessed geek with no life"]; my wife will drop the "almost"), a programmer, an agnostic with neopagan leanings, a one-time member of the SCA, and an SF fan. I'm a devoted husband, and a good friend. I used to be a member of the senior staff of Double Exposure, Inc., which once ran the DexCon, Dreamation and Spectrum gaming conventions. And I'm a Babylon 5 fan.

Oh, and I'm also an author. Mostly, I write for Steve Jackson Games, under whose imprint are (as of early 2003) about a dozen books I've either written outright or to which I have contributed something. I've also edited two books for SJG. In addition, I've written or co-written about a half-dozen articles for SJG's Roleplayer and Pyramid magazines. If you care to look back far enough, I have a couple things in Dragon Magazine, circa 1984-85, too. (I won't tell you which issues; I'm not particularly proud of those works, so why should I point you right at them?) I also write a little fiction; my first short story was published by Circlet Press in their anthology The Beast Within in 1995. I'm a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. I've written some anime fanfiction (see above, and also my Miscellanea page).

In the photo above, I'm the one on the left. <grin>

The one on the right is my lovely wife Peggy. She has cowritten two books (so far) with me for SJ Games. She also was in the SCA, and at one time she was far closer to being an otaku than I was, at least as far as her favorite anime (Ranma 1/2) was concerned, but I've since far surpassed her. She's a gamer, too; like me, she was senior staff for Double Exposure, and back when it was still an active campaign, she co-ran Narth 2000 with me.

If Peg wants anything more said about her, she should create her own webpage. <grin> Maybe you should encourage her!
