Built in 1995 mostly by my father, Delos Pieper who is a pilot for Continental Airlines, was the 8 foot long airplane and 9 foot wing span. The plane is titled "Santa's Express." The propeller amazes everyone due to it's motion like properties. In 1996, the airplane was put on a 3 foot support to make it 'fly' off the runway. The runway (the line of blue chassing lights) extends about 100 feet long, but actually looks longer, due to receeding lines. the closer end is actually twice as wide as the far end. If you look from the wrong end the lights look as if the don't go very far at all (they look parallel from this end!) The sign reads "Santa's Airport, Over 17,000 lights, 240 strands, Lighted 5:30 - 9:00, and 22nd thru 1st 5:00 - 11:00, Created by Darren Pieper. The sign was originally the main sign until I made a fully lit sign. I change the numbers every year.
