COMIC BOOK WORK

I joined the staff of Marvel Comics in the summer of 1972. I learned my craft on the job from such people as Frank Giacoia, Mike Esposito, John Romita, Marie Severin, Stan Lee, and others. I did a great deal of background inking, coloring, lettering, and penciling at first, but after several years of assisting Joe Sinnott I decided to concentrate on inking. I was fortunate to work on all the major characters at that time including the 'Amazing Spiderman.' In the mid-seventies I moved over to DC Comics where, after doing many 'Legion of Superheros' and 'Wonder Woman' books I concentrated on the Superman books with Julie Schwartz as editor. I inked most of the work of the great Curt Swan and Kurt Schaffenberger at that time. For the next decade I moved back and forth between the two companies as well as several others such as Tekno, as opportunities arose. In the early nineties I decided to specialize in comics for younger readers. I continue to do work for Disney and DC. I'm currently working on 'Scooby Doo.'
